Reports to:

Supervisor of Transportation

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass yearly physical examination
• Hold at least a valid Class B CDL with a school bus and passenger endorsement with not more than 4 points
• Meet all minimum state school bus operator requirements
• Ability to work without supervision
• Cooperate and get along with others
• Honesty
• Work as a member of a team

• Knowledge of the streets of the City of Canton
• Knowledge of the locations of Canton City Schools and buildings

• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Maintains discipline with the students
• Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority
• Keeps assigned bus clean
• Keeps to the assigned schedule
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Discharges students only at designated stops
• Performs other duties as assigned
