Job Summary
Full‑time Maintenance Technician. Perform a variety of maintenance duties to keep campus facilities safe, clean, and operational. Includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and emergency repair tasks.
Position DetailsLocation: 2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016 (other district sites available).
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible to meet scheduling needs).
Pay: $15.00–$20.00 per hour.

- Maintain, repair, clean, and operate plant, shops, mechanical areas, exterior grounds, and campus facilities.
- Perform basic maintenance duties and repairs as assigned; contact supervisors, skilled trade vendors, or on‑call personnel as instructed.
- Update work statuses, timing, and costs of repairs using company technical systems.
- Provide fleet maintenance support, including welding, plumbing, electrical, food truck kitchen maintenance, vehicle driving, on‑campus fleet troubleshooting, generator fixes, and general maintenance.
- Assist in making decisions on all minor and routine repairs; report major problems to the supervisor, foreman, or journeyman.
- Clean sidewalks and parking areas; pick up and dispose of trash, debris, branches, and similar items.
- Operate electrical and gasoline‑powered equipment.
- Maintain equipment; perform minor equipment repairs using power and hand tools.
- Perform a variety of other unskilled or semi‑skilled tasks such as minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, minor electrical work, lamp changing, and drywall maintenance.
- Respond to emergency problems in the facility; perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections.
- Read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
- Serve as a member of the facility’s emergency response team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One year of related experience as a maintenance worker/technician in a similar‑size institution or in a grounds maintenance occupation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Some exposure to elevated heat, noise, dust, dirt, and/or areas requiring infection control. Must meet deadlines for completion of work on a daily basis. Must be able to work all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary, to maintain facility at the appropriate and safe level.
