What does this role look like?
Procurement activities for this position support the operations, maintenance and sustainment of government payload processing systems and support facilities for the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) program for the Office of Space Launch (OSL) Customer.
In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material. Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders' conferences, develops evaluation criteria, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends supplier, writes subcontract packages for review, prepares awards and administers resulting subcontracts or purchase orders. Analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Assists in the development of subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services for subcontracts for multiple contract types. Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to purchase orders Participates with contracts administration and purchasing to develop subcontract policies and procedures. May sign supplier agreements and purchase orders within established authority.
Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located at our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:
Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida OR Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
* Experience managing stakeholder expectations and vendor relationships.
* You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TS/SCI w/Poly clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
* Previous professional Subcontract Administration, Subcontract Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Category Management, and/or Contracts Management/Negotiation Experience.
* Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership and suppliers.
* Experience and ability to prioritze tasks effectively.
* Demonstrated 'Can-Do' and positive attitude.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Experience with SAP / P2P (Procure to Pay) or
similar ERP software.
* Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
