The FBM program needs a Project-Engineering-focused professional who will plan, schedule, write, integrate, and control the lifecycle of all technical data product that support war-fighter operations, missile-system assembly, test, and maintenance. Summary of key responsibilities for this position:
• Develop and own the master schedule for all data product streams (OPs, ODs, SWOPs, work instructions, other data packages) and integrate it with overall data products schedules.
• Track and control program funding (MIPR, DSO, cost-accounting) for the data package effort, providing variance reports to the Associate Manager.
• Manage configuration control of all manuals, data products, and special-weapon procedures, ensuring changes are captured, baselined, and released on multiple SSP repositories.
• Ensure compliance with all security, classification, and export-control requirements (CUI, NISPOM, COMSEC) during creation, review, and distribution of classified documents.
• Drive continuous-improvement initiatives for promulgation processes, tooling (S1000D, MAP/IMPs, Apriso), and metrics (on-time delivery, defect density, rework).
• Lead the authoring effort for technical manuals and work-instructions, defining content scope, allocating SME resources, and integrating the write-up work-stream into the overall data-product schedule
• Provide production-support coordination and long range planning for the SWS Facility, translating schedule changes into data product updates and ensuring the shop floor receives current, approved data.
• Facilitate technical reviews and approvals (final product reviews) and prepare briefing packages for senior leadership and Navy customers as required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (engineering field or technical discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Prior project planning experience: proposal, cost modeling, or long-range.
• Experience writing, handling, organizing, and coordinating documentation/data
• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF editing tools
• Must be a US citizen, will be subject to a government security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to travel occasionally
Desired
Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work collaboratively with peers, customers, and supervisors and begin to build professional relationships.
• Basic project-coordination experience (e.g., creating task lists, maintaining schedules, tracking status) with exposure to formal project-management tools.
• Missile Tech experience
• Familiarity with the engineering lifecycle stages (system definition, design, build, test, and field deployment) through coursework, internships, or early-career assignments.
• Experience participating in cross-functional teams to help resolve technical questions and support problem-solving efforts.
• Some experience handling or tracking classified documentation/data under supervision, with an understanding of basic CUI/COMSEC requirements.
• Awareness of data-at-rest protection and basic encryption principles.
• Working knowledge of FBM/re-entry system documentation (e.g., ODs, SWOPs) gained through training or on-the-job exposure.
• Solid software background; comfortable using basic scripting or macro development.
• Familiarity with XML and other simple structured markup languages (e.g., S1000D basics).
• Ability to perform straightforward compliance checks against requirements and flag issues for review.
• Capability to assist technical leads in tracking cost, schedule, and scope items and to provide clear status updates.
• Beginning to apply systems-thinking concepts; able to identify how a change in one area may affect others and suggest practical improvements.
