Security Manager
Maritime Officers serve to detect and prevent security threats affecting ships or port facilities. They provide access control, inspection, patrol, and administrative services in accordance with Florida State Statute 311 and Title 33 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Their role is vital in deterring, detecting, and disrupting security threats. Working under law enforcement direction, Maritime Officers promote public safety and facilitate the legitimate flow of trade and travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Florida Class E Driver's License (must be maintained).
- Successful completion of Sheriff's Office pre-employment medical and psychological exams.
- Security-related or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Must pass drug tests before and during employment.
Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, including weekends and holidays. Availability for emergencies and natural disasters is required.
This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to weather conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, and fog. The position requires normal visual and auditory acuity, color perception, and other sensory abilities.
