Marine Service Advisor
Location:
Cape Coral, FL, USA
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, full time.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, 401(k) with matching.
The Boat House Group, a Top 100 dealer, is expanding its service department and seeks a dedicated Service Advisor to deliver exceptional customer service and support the team.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate professionally with customers via phone, email, and in person.
- Greet customers promptly and maintain a courteous demeanor.
- Use dealer management software and demonstrate knowledge of marine parts and components.
- Handle phone inquiries quickly and courteously.
- Sell service and maintenance to customers in person, by telephone, and electronically.
- Schedule appointments that support business goals and customer convenience.
- Refer to service records and recommend additional service and maintenance per manufacturer and company procedures.
- Inspect boats and motors before repair or maintenance, noting work accurately.
- Complete repair/maintenance paperwork accurately and on time.
- Secure customer approval before starting work, covering cost, delivery, payment, warranties, and completion dates.
- File for warranty pre‑authorizations following manufacturer guidelines.
- Communicate additional work needs promptly to the customer.
- Follow up with each customer 48 hours post‑delivery to confirm satisfaction.
- Handle complaints by following procedures to reach a satisfactory resolution while protecting company interests.
- Refer potential sales leads to the Sales Department.
- Maintain a positive working environment with internal staff and vendors.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Attend assigned meetings and complete required training.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Service writing experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Dedication to customer service.
- Strong phone and follow‑up skills.
- Previous marine industry service advisor experience (preferred).
- Understanding of service department operations and timing importance.
- Positive attitude and genuine team spirit.
Other duties as assigned. Candidates must undergo a drug screen prior to hire.
