• Be knowledgeable about professional and practice issues related to the field of gastroenterology.
• In accordance with doctors' preferences and established standards, ensure the presence of all instruments, equipment, and supplies necessary for the gastroenterological procedure.
• Responsible for the care and handling of all GI equipment used.
• Set up a clean field as necessary for the specific gastroenterological procedures.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area and practice economy in the use of all supplies.
• Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for proper disinfection of the endoscopes every time.
• Provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with facility requirements and safety standards set forth by the organization.
• Clean gastroenterological area and help to clean the procedure room following gastroenterology procedures.
• Properly dispose of contaminated supplies and equipment.
• Perform duties in the instrument processing area such as washing, assembling, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments.
• Ensure that all equipment is functional.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

Salary: $42,000.00-$50,000.00 (Fort Myers, FL)
