Seafood Associate

Responsibilities

• Seeks opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers. Maintains an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service with an emphasis of taking care of the customer.
• Frequently inspects all seafood product for quality and freshness, rotates and maintains excellent case presentation. Follows all Food Safety Handling rules as applied to proper receiving and rotating of raw and cooked seafood.
• Handles frozen product, fresh seafood, cuts and prepares all seafood required for business needs.
• Merchandises the fresh seafood display cases by following the recipe guides for fresh seafood grab and go packages.
• Prepares case set-up by re-icing the case, putting the product in fresh clean pans, rotating product properly, setting case according to planogram and management direction. Properly returning product back in cooler as needed.
• Assist the Meat Department when required and after all primary duties have been completed, including covering breaks and lunches in the Meat Department when needed.
• Unloads delivery trailers, receive merchandise, break down pallets of merchandise, organizes and clean coolers. Clean meat & seafood department as directed.
• Maintains a constant awareness of customer and employee safety. Ensures the department/area of responsibility is kept clear of excess carts, baskets, garbage, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness, organization and eye-appeal of the seafood sales and frozen and fresh seafood storage areas, equipment and displays according to company policy and legal regulations.
• Receives inventory, stocks, verifies receipt of ordered product and orders.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

• Good knowledge in food safety, including knowledge of danger zone, temperature control, storage, logs.
• Able to work open, close, and mid shift on rotation.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
• Excellent attention to details.
• Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and compute weights and measures.
• Work in freezer and/or cooler for short periods of time.
• Must have holiday and weekend availability.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
