equipment operator - district five / brevard maintenance

this position will operate various vehicles and heavy equipment for bridge and roadway maintenance, perform minor equipment maintenance, and assist with repairs and cleaning. Lead and coordinate the work of a maintenance crew, including planning tasks, selecting materials, maintaining records, and preparing reports. Also perform manual labor, temporary traffic control, basic carpentry, masonry, painting, and help install highway signs.

operates vehicles and a variety of small and medium equipment that may include, but not limited to; front end loader, skid steer loader, grader, lift equipment, small bulldozer and asphalt repair truck while performing bridge and roadway maintenance; performs minor maintenance and servicing work in connection with any type of equipment operated and assists in the repairs of this equipment; checks and adds fluids, checks/adjusts brakes, maintains proper air pressure in all tires, etc.
