Senior Accountant

An established CPA firm in Cape Girardeau, MO is looking to add a strong Senior Accountant to its growing team. The firm is open to candidates with either a Tax or Audit background and is willing to shape the position around the right professional’s experience and strengths.

• Prepare and review tax returns and related tax work
• Perform audit and assurance procedures, depending on experience
• Prepare and analyze financial statements
• Assist with client accounting and other public accounting engagements
• Research and resolve accounting or tax issues
• Communicate with clients and develop strong professional relationships
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines
• Contribute to the team through knowledge-sharing and support of other staff

• Experience in public accounting
• Strong background in either Tax or Audit
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting and/or tax principles
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality client service
• CPA, CPA candidate or interest in pursuing the CPA is a plus
