Industrial Equipment Supervisor responsible for overseeing industrial equipment and associated lab facilities and providing training on this equipment in the Department of Engineering & Technology.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain and repair equipment and tools, working with others for service contracts or repairs that cannot be completed in house.
- Maintain records of equipment, including maintenance and inspection schedules, maintenance and operation instructions, and safety information.
- Make recommendations and otherwise assist with the purchase and installation of new equipment.
- Manage and maintain inventory supplies.
- Teach courses for the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center's machine tool program.
- Train users in equipment operation and techniques, explain and demonstrate technology and equipment capabilities, limitations, and outcomes.
- Demonstrate safe operation of laboratory equipment and tools; conduct and organize workshops for students and faculty.
- Ensure faculty are properly trained in the safe and appropriate use of equipment and work with faculty to train their students.
- Report any unsafe working conditions and stop any activities that are unnecessarily hazardous.
- Conduct tours and demonstrations of the laboratory facilities.
- Maintain and update instruction videos for major equipment.
- Assist with other activities to support the program or department.
- High school diploma and national certifications associated with machine tools, such as Skill Point certifications in CNC programming.
- Candidate must be qualified to teach at a Career and Technology Center. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to teach hands‑on, laboratory courses in areas such as material testing, industrial processes, machining, CAD/CAM, casting/metallurgy, and the design and fabrication of mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise laboratories and industrial machinery, including ensuring the safety of users, maintenance and repair of equipment, maintenance of records, and effective implementation of new equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the department and work with industries in the region.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
