The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Southeast Missouri State University is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure‑track faculty position to support our forensic chemistry program. The position is available August 01, 2026.

• Teach forensic chemistry and other chemistry courses at the introductory and advanced levels.
• Support the forensic chemistry program and forensic chemistry majors through, for example: curriculum development, academic advising, assisting students with internship placement and career development, fostering and expanding relationships with the local crime lab, etc.
• Establish a productive, multifaceted research program involving undergraduates.
• Participate in service activities to the department, college, university including but not limited to academic advising, committee membership, public service and outreach, on‑campus engagement, and student recruitment and retention.

• Ph.D. (with Ph.D. by August 2026) in Forensic Chemistry or another chemistry‑related field (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, etc.). Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.
• Demonstrated potential to develop successful research involving undergraduates.
• Demonstrated experience teaching chemistry at the college/university level as a graduate assistant, instructor, or above.
• Experience or potential for program leadership in forensic chemistry.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, and students in a collegial academic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated evidence of commitment to teamwork, collegiality, and collaboration when interacting with others within and outside of the university community.
