Position Summary

The Department of Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University is seeking an outstanding educator for a Regular Non‑Tenure Track (RNTT) position in horticulture. The successful candidate will teach courses primarily in horticulture and collaborate with area stakeholders to address knowledge gaps and community needs, building a reputable horticultural program.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach core horticulture courses.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding their academic progress.
  • Engage in service activities, including recruitment and retention.
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Earned MS in Horticulture or a directly related field (degree from a regionally or internationally accredited institution).
  • Possess theoretical knowledge and practical experience in horticulture.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student growth and achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective horticulture teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate experiential learning activities.
  • Demonstrated collegiality when interacting with the university community.
  • Evidence of effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
