Compensation

Hourly: $20.00 - $24.40 (amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies).

The main purpose of this job is to deliver an excellent customer experience by building relationships with customers, understanding their financial needs, and providing the right solutions. You will develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers, coworkers, and other lines of business within Commerce Bank to uncover each customer’s financial needs.

Personal Bankers are personable, goal-oriented, and have a passion for helping customers improve their financial health. You’ll gain valuable insight into banking and finance while helping customers with daily financial challenges. Commerce has a tradition of recognizing and rewarding talent and contributions. This role is based at our Cape Girardeau Main location.

As a Personal Banker, you’ll be the key ambassador of the Commerce Bank brand. You will develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers, co-working teams, and other areas of the business to uncover financial needs and provide solutions.

• Receive tools, resources, and training to succeed in your role and grow with Commerce Bank.
• Deliver an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone to meet customers’ financial needs.
• Actively listen to customers to make appropriate recommendations matching their needs.
• Educate customers on a variety of retail products and digital solutions to improve their financial wellness.
• Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish relationships with internal departments and refer customers to bank specialists for complex needs.
• Be eligible to earn more than base pay through our quarterly incentive program.

• Monday – Friday 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM and Saturdays 8:45 AM – 12:15 PM

• Interact with customers in person and by phone to meet financial needs through needs-based conversations and sales fulfillment.
• Listen, understand, and recommend products and services to achieve individual and team goals.
• Educate customers on retail products and digital solutions to enhance the customer experience and support sales goals.
• Ensure financial transactions are accurate and compliant with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify complex financial needs and refer customers to bank specialists when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong sales skills with the ability to provide an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone.
• Ability to meet personal and branch sales and customer service expectations.
• Motivated, organized self-starter with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Adaptable with a positive outlook aligned with our culture and core values.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years sales or customer service experience required.
• Experience in an environment with individual and team sales goals preferred.

Position may be filled as a Personal Banker I or II depending on experience and education.

For this position, Commerce Bank may prepare an investigatory consumer report which will disclose credit history. If you are considered for this position, you will be asked to authorize that report.
