Universal Banker

Alliance Bank is a locally-owned community bank serving Cape Girardeau, Oran, Sikeston, New Madrid, and Jackson, Missouri. Our mission is “to be the preferred Community Bank provider of financial services in the markets we serve.” We are currently hiring a Universal Banker who will provide new and existing customers with high‑quality service and specialize in assessing customer needs.

• Interview new account holders and process necessary paperwork for a customer account to be opened, closed, or placed on hold.
• Inform customers on bank procedures regarding these services: debit/ATM cards, direct deposit of checks, savings accounts, safe‑deposit boxes, investment products, and internet banking.
• Make on‑the‑spot decisions regarding customer transactions, always cautious of bank exposure to loss or fraud.
• Investigate and resolve problems and discrepancies concerning customer accounts.
• Be aware of current rates at other local banks for similar products.
• Gather information for wire transfers of funds and submit to the Deposit Operations Department.
• Work in the role of a teller when needed.
• Provide basic cash receipts, deposits, and payment services in accordance with bank procedures.
• Enter daily transactions into the designated banking system and identify mistakes if the debits and credits do not balance.
• Receive payments for a variety of loans (consumer, commercial, mortgage and home equity).
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in personal cash drawer at end of shift when working as a teller and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
• Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds following required financial regulations and bank policies.
• Work closely with other tellers and Deposit Operations staff to resolve customer issues and discrepancies.
• Provide efficient and courteous customer service to prospects and customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
