Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Hospice

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly

We’re seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our care team and provide high-quality hospice services to patients in their homes. What

You’ll Do
  • Deliver direct nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with the plan of care
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
  • Monitor and report changes in the patient s condition and ensure timely communication with the RN and interdisciplinary team
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers on self-care, medications, and symptom management
  • Assist with daily living activities to promote patient comfort and independence
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and timely reporting of patient care and progress
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
  • Ensure safe, respectful, and compassionate care at all times
Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state of employment
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing program
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (hospice, home health, or related preferred)
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Comfortable working independently and in rural or home settings
  • Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of end-of-life care
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required, including testing for marijuana
