Maintenance Worker - Golf Course

General Definition of Work

Performs work responsible for the maintenance of the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.

• Maintains the ground of the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course including mowing fairways and greens, weed and tree trimming and other landscaping related responsibilities.
• Performs required responsibilities related to turf care and chemical application.
• Maintains and repairs golf course maintenance equipment.
• Removes trash from the golf course and pro-shop and ensures water distribution stations are maintained.
• Sets up for and clean up after golf tournaments.
• Available to respond and to work weekend and holidays as needed. Participates in a rotation of weekend coverage of golf course maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
• Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Bi-weekly pay periods.
• Twelve paid holidays per year.
• 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
• 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
• 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
• City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
• City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
• Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
• Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
• Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

• Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $24.73 hourly/$51,437 yearly.

Before final appointment, successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a drug test, background investigation and pre-employment physical.
