Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Overview

An international award winning multidisciplinary and multi-sector Group is looking for an Accountant. The accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the organisation in sound financial decision‑making. The role involves handling the full accounting function, managing internal controls, and ensuring timely month‑end and year‑end reporting.

• Manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashbook, and journals.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate use of accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Quick Books, Xero).
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax legislation, and internal controls.
• Adhere to professional accounting standards and ethical practices.
• Support audits and liaise with external stakeholders where required.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in an Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and relevant tax legislation.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial accounting systems.
• Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, MS Office).
• Experience with Xero.
• Payroll processing experience.
• Familiarity with SARS eFiling.
