Position Title:
Corporate Accounting Supervisor
Job Type: Remote (Cape Town & Johannesburg, South Africa)
Timing: US Time Zone (EST)
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for executing month-end close activities in close partnership with the Corporate Accounting team while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness across accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including approval of journal entries, preparation and maintenance of account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management, as required.
- Collaborate with the Accounting VP, Director, and Manager to develop and implement process improvements aimed at streamlining close schedules and increasing operational efficiency.
- Support inventory automation initiatives by working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
- Proactively identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve accounting workflows and controls.
- Assist external auditors by preparing documentation, schedules, and responses to audit requests.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5-6 years of accounting experience, with some exposure to public accounting (preferred).
- Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting experience or a combination of 3-4 years across public accounting and industry roles.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with Net Suite and/or other ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Proven ability to deliver results under deadlines.
- Critical thinker with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
