Accountant: Independent Reviews and Compilations

An established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Accountant:
Independent Reviews & Compilations to join its Assurance team. Reporting to the relevant Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality independent review and compilation engagements, preparing financial statements, and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Perform and assist with Independent Review engagements from planning through to finalisation.
• Prepare high-quality Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
  , including full working paper files.
• Liaise directly with clients and attend engagement-related meetings.
• Monitor engagement budgets, time spent, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in mentoring and training junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with firm quality, independence, and professional standards.
• Maintain accurate administration, time recording, and engagement documentation.

• Completed SAICA articles
  .
• BCom degree essential;
  PGDA/CTA advantageous
  .
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
  .
• Proven experience preparing financial statements using Case Ware Working Papers
  .
• Previous experience within an assurance or accounting environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).

• Sound professional judgement and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to identify inconsistencies and interpret financial information accurately.
