Assistant Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for completing the bookkeeping, clerical and accounting tasks for our client.

• Financial Management - Day-to-day accounting systems/transactions monitored and reviewed:
  General Ledger, Creditors, Intercompany, Inventory & Cost of Sales.
  
  Accurate monthly detailed analysis for other cost of sales with full comparison to prior year, budget/forecast. Processing in GL via journals and maintenance thereof.
  
  GL reconciliations. Accounts payable age analysis. Ensure all suppliers are paid on time. Year-end preparation and Audit deliverable.
• Intercompany Reconciliations – on a monthly basis – accurate reconciliation of Supplier and Loan accounts. Preparation of intercompany schedules for group submissions.
• Reporting – Compilation of monthly reports and detailed analysis for - Other cost of sales including recommendations for corrective actions where required, Purchase Orders not approved and not receipted (bi- weekly), FSSC query list review and feedback (weekly), GRIR 90 days review and feedback (weekly), AP aged items >90 days review and feedback (monthly), Accurate compilation of the monthly management accounts and management packs (distributed in accordance with deadlines).
• Internal - compliance with finance internal control processes and perform JSE control testing procedures for area. First line approver for POs all control checks to be done.

• Matric
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce – Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in an FMCG environment
• SAP experience in Financial Management, Controlling, Materials Management and Project Systems
