MD Streets is a multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Accountants and Auditors based in Cape Town, providing accounting, audit, tax, compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Accounting graduate to join our Cape Town team as a SAIPA Trainee Accountant and complete their professional articles with us.

This is more than an entry-level accounting position. You will gain hands-on exposure across accounting, audit and taxation, working with a varied client portfolio while being supported by experienced professionals throughout your training contract.

You will also have the opportunity to work on both South African and UK clients, giving you valuable international exposure and insight into how accounting practices operate across different markets.

As you develop through your articles, you will gain practical exposure to:

• Preparing and maintaining accounting records for clients
• Bookkeeping and processing accounting transactions
• Preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements
• Supporting audit and review engagements
• Preparing and assisting with tax returns and statutory submissions
• Working with client information and resolving accounting queries
• Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Communicating with clients and internal team members
• Working across a range of industries and client portfolios
• Using accounting and audit software to complete client assignments

You won't be expected to know everything from day one. We are looking for someone with the right academic foundation, attitude and willingness to learn, who wants to build a long-term career in professional accountancy.

You should have:

• A completed or near-completed SAIPA-accredited undergraduate degree in Accounting/Accounting Sciences
• A genuine intention to complete SAIPA articles and qualify professionally
• A strong interest in accounting, audit and taxation
• Good numerical and analytical ability
• Strong attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise competing tasks
• A willingness to learn and take responsibility for your work
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• South African citizenship/right to work in South Africa
• The ability and willingness to work from our Cape Town office

Previous accounting experience is advantageous, but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates who have the required academic background and are looking for their first opportunity to complete their SAIPA articles.
