Financial Controller

Financial Controller position available in Cape Town.

Have you had 2 – 3 years post SAICA articles experience with some exposure to retail, FMCG or QSR environments.

Our client based in the Waterfront area of Cape Town, requires a CA preferably or your ACCA / CIMA equivalent in order to do the financial controlling of food cost, labour cost, rent structures and is comfortable working across POS/ERP systems and consolidating data from various sources.

This role ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple stores while partnering with operations to drive profitability.

Requirements:

• Matric, bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, Honours Degree in Accounting (preferred)
• Completed SAICA Articles
• 2 – 3 years’ post-articles experience
• Exposure to retail, FMCG or QSR environments advantageous
• Strong knowledge of SARS compliance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems (Sage, Xero, etc.)
• POS systems experience advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities::

• Prepare and present monthly financial results per store and consolidated group
• Analyse store-level profitability (sales, food costs, labour, overheads)
• Monitor key cost drivers including food, labour, and expenses
• Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and cash control processes
• Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
• Oversee audit readiness and internal controls
• Develop and maintain SOPs for finance and store processes
• Design and enhance financial and operational reporting
• Manage creditors, debtors, and accounting staff
• Monitor cash flow and working capital across stores
