Bookkeeper​/Accountant

• Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process bank reconciliations, cashbooks, journals and payments.
• Prepare pay-over schedules and allocate customer payments.
• Verify supplier invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.
• Liaise with auditors, SARS, suppliers and clients.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and financial duties.

• Relevant Finance or Accounting qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legislation.
• Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Pastel, Sage or Quick Books.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
