Bookkeeping and Tax Administrator

Bookkeeping and Tax Administrator required in Cape Town.

Do you enjoy working in an accounting firm where you support accountants with maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly trial balances, and reconciling bank statements?

Our client is a well-established accounting firm with a growing team and is looking for someone with strong numerical accuracy, excellent attention to detail and intermediate Excel skills to contribute to their continued success.

Requirements:

• Matric and preferably a Diploma in Bookkeeping
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software like Xero or Sage
• Intermediate Excel skills (these will be tested)
• Strong working knowledge of local tax and labour legislation
• High attention to detail for error-free reconciliations
• Organizational skills to track concurrent SARS filing deadlines
• Fast and reliable internet and power backup in case of power outages

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain daily general ledger entries, accounts payable, and receivable
• Process monthly trial balances and reconcile bank statements
• Prepare and submit statutory returns via platforms like SARS e-Filing
• Manage client tax registrations, amendments, and compliance tracking
• Coordinate documentation for annual financial statements and audits
