MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate records in Quick Books for three companies
- Generate and follow up on invoices; match payments and reconcile accounts
- Oversee supplier payments, bank reconciliations, VAT and cashflow reporting
- Support year-end audit processes and documentation for BEE and POPIA compliance
- Payroll
- Manage full payroll function using Pastel Payroll for weekly and monthly staff payments
- Administer submissions and contributions to BIBC and FEM, including claims and reports
- Handle payroll tax reconciliations and reports (EMP
201, EMP
501, EE Certificates) - Track staff advances and ensure compliance with all payroll-related legislation and timelines
- Work experience and industry exposure
- Minimum 3-5 years of payroll and bookkeeping experience (preferably in construction but not essential)
- Proficient in Pastel Payroll, Quick Books, and Microsoft Excel or similar software
- Knowledge of BIBC, FEM, SARS, and EE compliance
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Professional, clear, and respectful communication via email and phone
- Able to handle sensitive financial data confidentially
- Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans is advantageous
- Assertive personality that understand bookkeeping and is able to make well-informed recommendations to the business
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into a settles and established team.
