Position within Institutional Operations - Fund Accounting Team as a Fund Accounting Specialist.
This is a contract for 12 months
The primary focus of the role is the accurate calculation and oversight of daily Net Asset Values (NAVs) across a range of investment portfolios, including Unit Trusts, Pooled Products, Mutual Funds, and Multi-Manager funds. This includes the calculation of daily income and expense accruals, cash and scrip reconciliations, maintenance of cash positions and margin accounts, as well as the accurate calculation of service fees and benchmark-related metrics.
The role also involves performing NAV validation and verification checks, ensuring that all movements are within defined tolerance levels and are appropriately investigated and resolved. The incumbent is responsible for the end-to-end NAV production process, including both calculation and the timely dissemination of NAVs to the market.
A strong focus is placed on accuracy, control, and operational efficiency, ensuring that all processes supporting NAV calculation are executed to a high standard and in line with established procedures and deadlines.
The key functions included are:
Calculate and review daily Net Asset Values (NAVs) for Unit Trusts, Pooled Products, Mutual Funds, Multi-Manager products, and Bermuda funds.
Perform independent NAV verification and validation checks, ensuring accuracy and timely dissemination of NAVs to the market.
Develop a strong understanding of the valuation of local and offshore securities, including fixed income instruments and complex assets.
Accurate calculation and allocation of fund and class expenses including performance fees.
Understanding of corporate actions and the impact on fund NAV.
Optimization of reconciliations, Exception handling, Investigation of significant variances and effective resolution of reconciliation breaks and ad hoc challenges.
Accurate processing of Asset Transfers across all Structured Products
Manage and execute fund-related payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Advanced understanding of the composition of fund holdings, fund benchmarks and performance fees
Preparing Fund Trial Balances and Nav analysis
Advanced understanding of unit transactions impact on income and capital prices
Attending to audit and ad hoc queries
Sound understanding of Income Distribution processes including the allocation of income per taxable income categories
Highly analytical with a strong accounting focus and problem-solving mindset

BSc or BComm, with at least 1-year mathematics, statistics or accounting.
Recent graduate applicants are welcome; 1-2 years' experience in Fund Accounting would be advantageous.
