WaFunda, an education-focused impact organisation, is looking for a detail-oriented, process-driven, highly-organised, and student-focused Student Administrator to join our team and support our ethical and innovative student financing product.
WaFunda’s response to the student funding crisis in South Africa is an innovative, fair, and ethical education financing tool called an Income Share Agreement (ISA). An ISA mimics some of the characteristics of a Stokvel and allows students to receive financing for their tertiary education without the risks associated with traditional loans.

The Role:The Student Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the collection and verification of all required onboarding documents, as well as assisting in the administration of application and selection processes for students participating in the Income Share Agreement (ISA) program.
This role will also handle student repayment queries, verify student employment and salary information, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the onboarding and repayment phases.
The Student Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of both student onboarding and repayment administration, supporting WaFunda’s mission of providing ethical and innovative student financing.

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Administration, Business, Education, Psychology or a related field.
- 1-2 years of administrative experience
, preferably in a student support or educational environment. - Experience in data management

Familiarity with handling documents, verifying information, and maintaining accurate records. - Proficiency in Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides) and other relevant software for tracking and managing student data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, such as document collection, verification, and repayment administration.

Proven ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in documentation and data handling. - Excellent communication skills
, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with students and internal teams.
- Customer service or student support experience

Demonstrated ability to handle inquiries and provide assistance in a professional and student-centered manner. - Basic understanding of financial processes related to payments and repayment tracking is a plus.
