Job Description

To shape and deliver glu’s strategic priorities by translating strategy into practical, scalable business solutions across product, operations, distribution, technology, data, and compliance. The role leads the design and implementation of operating models, processes, organisational structures, and automation initiatives, driving complex cross-functional transformation programmes from assessment and target-state design through to adoption, execution, and benefits realisation. This role operates across glu through specialist expertise, matrix leadership and influence over multidisciplinary teams.

Accountability for operational delivery remains with the respective functional owners.

• Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis or a related field
• Project Management or Product Owner certification (preferred)
• Relevant insurance, underwriting, operations, business transformation, risk, process improvement or technology-related qualifications, certifications or professional training (preferred)?

• 10+ years' relevant experience within insurance (ideally life insurance), underwriting, operations or a comparable environment. Extensive experience across multiple insurance functions will be highly advantageous.
• Significant experience across multiple insurance functions with a demonstrated ability to identify business improvement opportunities, redesign ways of working, improve operational effectiveness and support the implementation of sustainable business solutions.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, apply sound commercial judgement and operate at senior management, functional leadership or principal specialist level.

• Deep understanding of life insurance operational processes, functional interdependencies and practical business improvement opportunities across the insurance value chain.
• Sound understanding of end-to-end insurance operations and key functional interdependencies.
• Strong knowledge of business process design, optimisation and continuous improvement.
• The ability to identify, design and implement practical business improvements within an insurance environment.
• Working knowledge of operational enablement, tactical automation and technology-enabled change.
• Understanding of operational risk, controls and relevant insurance regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of change implementation and benefits realisation.?

• Design fit-for-purpose tactical solutions that support operational teams while longer-term strategic system capabilities are under development.
• Assess opportunities based on operational value, implementation effort, risk, control requirements and expected lifespan of the solution.
• Work closely with the Head of Strategic Execution to align tactical automation initiatives with the strategic technology and system development roadmap.
• Design interim solutions with appropriate consideration for future strategic capabilities to minimise duplication, rework and technical debt.
• Establish appropriate transition or retirement plans for tactical solutions where functionality will ultimately be replaced by strategic system capabilities.

• Lead and support transformation initiatives across operations, underwriting, claims, member services, distribution and enabling functions.
• Provide senior capacity and problem-solving into priority programmes — including the onboarding journey overhaul, the URE / rules-engine replacement and the reinsurer transition.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of manual, high-effort processes to release capacity, reduce risk, improve turnaround and customer experience.
