Overview

Hire Resolve’s client is in search of a driven and meticulous Junior Quantity Surveyor to become an integral part of their team in Durbanville, Western Cape. As the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role as the guardian of project budgets, overseeing all costs associated with designated construction projects. You’ll engage in the entire project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final cost reports, meticulously tracking any changes and fluctuations in turnover and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor project progress and cost variances.
  • Assist in preparing and evaluating variations and change orders.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs and documentation.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections as required.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a the built environment.
  • Proficient on Candy CCS.
  • Must have a valid drivers licence with your own reliable transport and be prepared to travel to project locations.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Build Smart.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes is desirable.
  • Previous experience or internships in quantity surveying or construction industry is an advantage.
