Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee multiple construction projects from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will provide leadership to Project Managers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and construction teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science or related field
    essential

  • 5–10 years' construction management experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing multiple construction projects

  • Experience in commercial, industrial and residential roofing projects

  • Experience managing Project Managers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and construction teams

  • Strong budgeting, cost-control and project management experience

  • Knowledge of South African building regulations, OHS Act and Construction Regulations

  • Strong understanding of roofing systems and installation methods

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software

  • SACPCMP registration or eligibility advantageous

  • Health & Safety qualification such as SAMTRAC or equivalent advantageous

  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple construction projects from planning through to completion

  • Develop and monitor construction programmes, schedules and resource requirements

  • Lead and provide guidance to Project Managers and Site Supervisors

  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors across projects

  • Monitor project progress, budgets, profitability and quality

  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure workmanship meets required standards

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements

  • Manage subcontractor performance and relationships

  • Identify and resolve construction issues and project delays

  • Manage project documentation, snagging and final handovers

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, engineers and suppliers

  • Prepare progress reports and communicate project performance, risks and resource requirements to management

  • Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, productivity and cost efficiency
