About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to oversee and manage construction operations on-site in Cape Town . This role is critical for ensuring that projects are executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and timelines. You will be a key liaison between the project management team, contractors, and labor, providing technical expertise and leadership to drive project success.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and have a proven track record of managing complex construction challenges in a demanding environment, contributing to the development of significant infrastructure projects within the region.
- Supervise and direct all on-site construction activities , ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Implement and monitor health and safety protocols on the construction site to ensure a secure working environment.
- Conduct quality control inspections and testing of materials and workmanship to guarantee compliance with standards.
- Manage site labor, subcontractors, and equipment effectively to optimize productivity and resource utilization.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, providing guidance to the construction crew.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and required interventions.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a site engineering role within the construction industry .
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and construction documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
