Quantity Surveyor - Construction Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage construction costs and contracts for various projects based in and around Centurion, Gauteng . This remote position requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, capable of managing budgets, controlling expenses, and ensuring financial viability throughout the construction lifecycle. You will play a critical role in cost estimation, contract administration, and financial reporting, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is adept at financial forecasting and possesses excellent analytical skills to optimize project profitability.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Administer construction contracts, managing variations, claims, and payments effectively.
• Monitor project expenditure, forecast costs, and report on financial performance to management.
• Conduct site visits and valuations to track progress and verify work completed.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and financial regulations throughout the project duration.

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, measurement standards, and cost management principles.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Excel for financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects remotely and meet strict deadlines.
