Contracts Engineer

Introduction:

Our client, a prominent consulting engineering firm, is looking for an experienced Contracts Engineer (PrEng) to play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running and act as the Employer's Agent.

• Administer construction contracts across infrastructure projects in accordance with industry standards.
• Fulfill the formal duties and responsibilities of the Employer's Agent on site and project levels.
• Oversee contract compliance, variations, claims, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Monitor project delivery to ensure quality, timeline, and budgetary alignment.
• Manage relationships and communications between clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng).
• Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience.
• Proven experience in administering construction contracts.
• Demonstrated experience acting as the Employer's Agent on infrastructure projects.
• Ability to start ASAP.
• Preferably resident in Cape Town.

• In-depth knowledge of standard engineering contracts (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, NEC).
• Strong contract administration and legal compliance expertise.
• Project governance and dispute resolution.
• Technical leadership and decision-making.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
