Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced BIM Coordinator to join our dynamic architectural practice. As a BIM Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all members of the project team are following the BIM Execution Plan and dhk BIM Best Practices. This includes making sure that everyone is using the right software, exchanging data regularly, and adhering to the model standards set forth in the plan.
Additionally, you must be able to effectively communicate with all team members to keep everyone on track.
Standards:
- Be capable of implementing ISO
19650 standards - Manage the creation and maintenance of BIM models on various projects
- Implement BIM processes throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure successful BIM integration
- Update, develop and implement BIM standards, procedures and guidelines along with the BIM Manager
- Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
- Assist in the automation of routines in BIM to support standards and productivity
- Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow processes and standards with the BIM Manager
- Train, mentor and oversee staff on BIM best practices with the BIM Manager
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to ensure successful BIM implementation
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies related to BIM
- Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customisation of the products with the BIM Manager and IT Support
Support:
- Install and support related BIM software along with the BIM Manager and IT Support
- Liaise with Autodesk where necessary
- Liaise with software developer support staff where necessary
Training:
- Assist the BIM Manager with providing Revit training internally to all staff as deemed necessary
- Assist the BIM Manager in providing technical orientation and BIM induction for all new staff
- Maintain high-level competency through ongoing training
- Attend conferences, seminars and workshops for BIM and disseminate information as required in conjunction with the BIM Manager
Project Interface:
- Assist on project work – modelling and detailing
- Assist project teams on BIM project setup
- Create Revit families in response to project need
- Manage & Capture Asset Data (COBie, Uniclass and Omniclass)
- Help resolve various BIM needs in conjunction with the BIM Manager
- Implement and maintain the BIM Execution Plan
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in BIM Coordination, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Architecture
- Strong knowledge of BIM software (e.g., Revit, Glassworks etc)
- Experience with project collaboration tools (e.g., ACC/Design Collaboration)
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients
- Understanding of building construction and documentation processes
- Detail-oriented
- Self-driven and organised
- Strong interpersonal skills
