Doctorate in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years' experience as a Senior Lecturer.The 5 years mentioned above must include 2 years' management experience related to the functions of a HOD (i.e academic management;curriculum development; quality assurance and accreditation processes; financial and HR management in a Department).Research and supervision experience commensurate with the level of Senior Lecturer or aboveSenior Lecturer

Teach Analytical Chemistry courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levelsSupervise undergraduate final year research projects and postgraduate studentsMonitor and assess Work Integrated LearningDevelop innovative teaching and learning methods and materials for the subjects being taught (e.g., lecture notes, tutorials, online content)Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the DepartmentParticipate in curriculum developmentParticipate in research projects and produce DHET-accredited publicationsParticipate in the Quality Assurance activities of the DepartmentAssist with marketing and student recruitment activitiesPerform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of DepartmentCompetencies
