A relevant Master’s degree in Education or Education Studies. Education specialization (curriculum studies, educational management, philosophy of education, sociology of education, inclusive education, and psychology of education).A relevant teaching qualification with a relevant major in SPFET (preferable at secondary school level).Education as a major subject at the undergraduate level.Two (2) years relevant lecturing experience in SP & FET at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience at school level.Specialized knowledge of methodologies of teaching.Recommendations:
A relevant Doctoral degree.Relevant research output.Adequate knowledge of teaching education.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Teaching in the SP & FET department.Curriculum development and other learning materials.Supervising students on teaching practice.Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision).Academic administration, development, and administration.Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge.Assessment and Quality Assurance.Good work ethics and ability to manage work.Community engagement.Mentoring and support of students (and staff).Teamwork and collaboration.Strong learner focus.Adaptability.Meticulous planning and organizing skills/Time Management.Networking with schools and other networks.Presentation skills.Computer literacy skills.Ability to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and on-line learning).Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department.Competencies
