Job PurposeTo support the holistic development of all students in the faculty by ensuring effective recruitment and offering academic, psychological, social, and financial assistance for the timely completion of qualifications. Additionally, provide career-building opportunities through competitions, internships, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Masters degree in Engineering or relevant Masters degree in STEM education.
- At least 3 years lecturing experience in Engineering or related field in Higher Education.
- Evidence of working with disadvantaged students.
- Management, Coordination and facilitation of faculty student development and experience.
- Management, Coordination and facilitation of faculty tutor training programme.
- Management, Coordination and facilitation of step‑up workshops and training.
- First year orientation across the faculty.
- Identification and planning of activities to improve student development and the student experience that is aligned to the faculty strategic plan.
- Initiate projects related to student development and the student experience.
- Involvement in faculty and CPUT projects related to student development.
- Attending relevant meetings within the faculty and institution and feeding back to relevant stakeholders.
- Administration and records keeping of task relevant to the portfolio.
- Language proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Good communication, report writing skills and presenting skills.
- Organizing and planning skills.
- Coaching and mentoring skills.
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong learner focus.
