to contribute to curriculum development and to teach according to a set syllabus in financial accounting and taxation-related topics, while providing support to the faculty in pursue of achieving its academic objectives, and to contribute to academic initiatives undertaken by the faculty to enhance learning while promoting financial accounting and taxation learning in accordance to the needs of the community, and to support and expand programmes for co‑operative education to achieve this objective.

To support faculty and departmental research initiatives through undertaking research and contributing towards group research.

• a doctorate or phd in financial accounting or taxation.
• an underpinning masters qualification in one or more sub‑fields of financial accounting or taxation.
• at least four (4) years full‑time of relevant lecturing experience in a higher education environment.
• evidence of research output in hdet accredited journals.
• evidence of postgraduate supervision at masters and doctorates level.

• professional body affiliation (where applicable).
• at least six years’ relevant industry experience.
• a master’s degree in financial accounting or taxation.
• at least two (2) years full‑time lecturing experience in a higher education environment.
• evidence of supervision and publications.

• lectures subjects within the field of management accounting and statistics for accountants.
• compiles subject guides in compliance with university rules.
• uses appropriate teaching methods, practices and technologies.
• develops learning materials for students.
• assists students with problems in learning and appointment of tutors / mentors.
• workload allocation may change according to departmental / faculty needs as determined by the head of department.

• adhere to council of higher education accreditation policy and procedures.
• academic management.
• contributes to policy making and meets annual objectives pertaining to academic programmes.
• review teaching and learning.
