We R Tutors Cape Town is an established private tutoring service providing personalised academic support to learners across a wide range of subjects, grades and curricula.

We work with learners across CAPS, IEB, Cambridge and other recognised curricula, connecting them with tutors who can provide targeted academic support based on their individual needs, learning style and academic goals.

We are looking for passionate, reliable and knowledgeable Private Tutors to join our tutoring network in Cape Town.

Tutors will provide one-on-one academic support to learners across primary school, high school and, where applicable, early tertiary levels. The role may involve a combination of in-person tutoring and online sessions, depending on the learner’s requirements.

We are particularly interested in tutors who can confidently teach subjects such as Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences/Biology, English and other school subjects.

• Provide high-quality one-on-one tutoring tailored to each learner’s academic needs.
• Plan and structure lessons according to the learner’s curriculum, level and goals.
• Explain difficult concepts clearly and in an engaging manner.
• Assist learners with homework, assignments, projects, tests and examinations.
• Prepare learners for assessments and examinations.
• Identify areas where learners require additional support and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate professionally with learners, parents and the We R Tutors team.
• Maintain punctuality and consistency across scheduled tutoring sessions.
• Use appropriate digital tools and resources for online tutoring where required.
• Maintain professional standards when working with learners and their families.

• Strong subject knowledge in the subjects you intend to tutor.
• Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring or academic support experience is advantageous.
• The ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Reliable access to a suitable device and internet connection for online tutoring.
• Comfortable using video conferencing, shared documents and online learning platforms.
• Currently studying towards or having completed a relevant degree, diploma or tertiary qualification is advantageous.
• Experience with CAPS, IEB, Cambridge or other recognised curricula is beneficial.
• Experience preparing learners for tests and examinations is an advantage.
