Head of and Repair Division

GC Solar, a dynamic and growing player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and certified professional to lead our new Support and Repair Division. This is a key leadership role for an individual with deep technical expertise in photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage (BESS), and broader electrical systems.

• A valid PV Green Card is non-negotiable.
• A valid Wireman’s License (3-Phase) and a completed Electrical Trade Test.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of:
• Grid-tied and hybrid PV systems (1-phase and 3-phase).
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Associated components (inverters, charge controllers, monitoring systems).
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to head up a division, manage workflows, and mentor junior technicians.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with a methodical approach to repair and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of the SANS 10142-1 wiring code and all relevant regulations for grid-connected PV systems.
• A valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle, and a clear criminal record.

• Lead and build the GC Solar Support and Repair Division.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on existing solar PV and BESS installations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members.
• Ensure all work complies with the latest quality, safety, and electrical standards.
• Manage repair logistics, documentation, and reporting.
