Introduction
The Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) will be responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of a full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a large-scale hydrogen processing plant, in accordance with South African environmental legislation and applicable international best practice.
The role requires a registered and experienced EAP with demonstrable experience in complex industrial, energy or hydrogen-related projects, including stakeholder engagement, specialist coordination, and regulatory approvals through to Environmental Authorisation (EA).

• BSc / BTech / Honours / Master’s degree in:
- Environmental Science
- Environmental Management
- Environmental Engineering
- Natural Sciences or related field
• Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with a recognised professional body (e.g. EAPASA or equivalent)
• 8–10+ years’ experience as a practicing EAP
• Proven experience delivering full EIAs (Scoping + EIAR + EMPr) for:
- Industrial plants
- Energy infrastructure (renewables, fuels, gas, hydrogen, petrochemical or heavy industry)
• Demonstrated success in securing Environmental Authorisations for complex projects
• Experience with hydrogen, gas, chemical, or hazardous industrial facilities strongly preferred
