Data Engineer – South Africa
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer to join a multi-million-pound, Global Mining Company to support a high performing Data Team on long-term BAU projects as part of a growing ‘business-facing’ Technical Team.
Your role as Data Engineer will give you the opportunity to rub shoulders with some extremely talented Engineers and develop your portfolio of work on Cloud and Databricks Projects in a unique industry that is yet to see some of the upcoming technologies within the sector. You will be supported by the Data team to develop holistically as a Data Professional and to travel once a quarter to luve Mining sites and meet key stakeholders Globally.
Key responsibilities for this Data Engineer role:
Work directly with the current Data Engineer, Integration Engineer and Wider Data Team to ensure the Operations Teams, Mining Teams, and other Key Senior Stakeholders are able to work seamlessly with the Operational Data sourced by the Data EngineerBuild and Monitor Data Pipelines, Transform Data into Useable Information for non-technical Stakeholders.Organise, Co-ordinate, and Managing Various Data-related Workflows across Multiple Systems, Applications, and Storage Locations – Data Extraction, Data Cleansing, Data OrchestrationIncident Handling, and Repair, Solutions Led to ensure problems are resolved efficiently and timely.Requirements for this Data Engineer role:
5+ years’ experience as a Data EngineerMicrosoft Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data Factory, API Management, Synapse and Serverless Databases.Deep understanding and experience using SQL Methods, Logic Apps and other Azure Services.Medallion Data Architecture, Architecture Transformations, Building and Monitoring Pipelines,Understanding of Postman as an API ServerPackage offered for this Data Engineer role:
Permanent offer of employment – 1.1million RandsPerformance based bonus20 days holidays + National holidays (circa 12)1-3 days in Cape Town Office - remote otherwise.Company shares subject to yearly cut off (eligible in the following year if not)
