Our Energy Group consists of more than 200 diverse professionals across Africa. The Energy Group has been involved in many of the utility‑scale wind and solar PV projects in South Africa, stretching from national planning and procurrent to detailed design and construction oversight. We are a respected and trusted partner to our Clients.

We are expanding our Energy Systems Group and seeking individuals, both junior and senior, to join our expanding team. The successful candidate(s) will be contributing to the following areas:

• Assist and lead studies such as capacity expansion planning (integrated resource planning), renewable energy and storage optimisation, and integrated energy planning.
• Support and lead energy market analysis and operational planning.
• Apply energy modelling tools (e.g., PLEXOS, PyPSA) in real‑world projects and take ownership of Zutari models. We currently use PLEXOS.
• Engage with Power Generation and Digital Advisory Groups to ensure modelling capabilities are leading the market. Assist Zutari to continue to digitise its business.
• Compile technical reports, simulations, and calculations.
• Participate in internal and client‑facing meetings to present findings and ongoing client engagement.
• Contribute to project scoping, data collection, and research on emerging energy projects.

• A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering (or closely related field). A post‑graduate degree in said fields is advantageous.
• Strong interest in energy systems, modelling, and market analysis.
• Familiarity with energy modelling platforms (even through coursework or internships) is a plus; a must at senior level.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• An interest and capabilities in digital twins are advantageous. We are looking for curious and innovative professionals that can challenge the status quo, that strive to improve and innovate.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
• Knowledge of South and Southern Africa’s energy landscape and market reform is advantageous but not required.
