Requirements- Bsc/Btech in Electrical Engineering.
- ECSA-registered Professional Engineer/Professional Engineering Technologist.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years post qualification and directly applicable and acceptable experience in an electricity distribution system environment with exposure to a wide range of technologies.
- Supervisory Skills.
- Good project management skills.
- Sound knowledge of safety legislation and practice.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- A high degree of computer literacy.

- Investigating sites; liaising with and facilitating all communication with customers and their representatives (eg architects, developers and consultants).
- Advising SCP on appropriate design solutions as far as the MV network is concerned.
- Liaising with Distribution on an ongoing basis to ensure that the project receives the required attention and to stay abreast on progress.
- Planning material, labour and transport requirements; liaising with and facilitating all communication with consulting engineers, developers, SIP and PLD (SCP).
- Ensuring the compliance of proposed embedded generation installations with applicable standards.
- Evaluating distribution network performance and meeting with operational staff on a regular basis to gain information about network reinforcement requirements and discuss proposed interventions.
- Performs project coordination and contract management functions on capital projects.
- Performing appropriate power system analysis studies to model network behaviour in response to proposed changes in generation, distribution or load infrastructure (MV: SIP, LV: SCP).
- Determines conditions to be applied regarding site development.
