CORPORATE SERVICES Professional Officer

• A three-year tertiary qualification in Geomatics, Geoinformatics or GIS field.
• A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Geospatial or GIS.
• Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) will be advantageous.

• Support department with geospatial data and products including 3D building modelling, digital elevation modelling and remote sensing data.
• Assist with the management and dissemination of geospatial data according to the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act.
• Carry out and coordinate geospatial projects and ensure accurate information is captured, processed and disseminated.
• Assist with contract management for geospatial tenders.
• Process, update and maintain geospatial data, layers and metadata.
• Acquire and standardise data from various formats.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Provide specialist geospatial advice and analysis to City departments and attend to public information enquiries.
• Stay abreast with current geospatial technologies and software.
• Ensure compliance with geospatial data standards and support the implementation of new remote sensing and geospatial technologies.
