Project Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead renewable energy projects from early-stage development through permitting and implementation
• Manage feasibility studies, due diligence, land agreements, budgets, and project documentation
• Engage with landowners, communities, government authorities, and financiers to support project delivery
• Coordinate resource assessments, preliminary site design, and storage integration as required
• Oversee grid connection processes and liaise with relevant authorities and operators
• Ensure projects meet timelines, cost targets, and commercial objectives

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in renewable energy development and/or project management
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role
• Proven experience delivering projects from greenfield stage to financing and implementation
• Strong knowledge of feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, and project motivation
• Competent in budgeting, cost control, and project reporting using management tools
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and financial modelling

• Honours Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) or Environmental Sciences;
  Master’s degree is advantageous
• Additional qualifications in business, project management, or finance are a plus
• Registration (or in-progress registration) with ECSA or relevant professional body required
• PMI or PMSA certification is advantageous and may be required if not already obtained
• Strong communication skills, including proficiency in English and at least one other South African language
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and engage with diverse stakeholders
