Here is what you will do:
The Professional Quantity Surveyor is required to be facilitate over the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and provides quantity surveying duties pre- and/or post-contract while working as part of the project team. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader project as an experienced quantity surveyor. Guides Candidate Quantity Surveyors on works and detailed routine.
Technical Excellence:
Undertakes responsibilities independently and/or under very general supervision, where work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and accuracy
Provides expertise and supervision utilizing more than one competence on projects of varying scope and complexity
Provides expertise and supervision with completing the measurement of quantities for input into cost plans, cost estimates and bills of quantities
Provides expertise and supervision with the preparation of tender documentation
Provides expertise and supervision with viability studies and cost estimates
Provides expertise and supervision with implementing, maintaining and monitoring cost control procedures throughout the duration of a project
Provides expertise and supervision with providing necessary input related to financial claims
Provides expertise and supervision with evaluating variations, additions, and omissions, etc, and incorporating these into monthly cost reports
Provides expertise and supervision with preparing, pricing and negotiating change orders with clients and contractors
Complies with all QA requirements

Here is what we are looking for:
BSc Quantity Surveying
Over 5 years of experience in the built environment in a QS function
Must be registered as a Pr.QS with SACQSP
Under limited supervision, normally receives little instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
Conducts surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater, using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments.
Operates and manages land-information computer systems, performs tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports.
Reviews information from survey teams regarding measurement of distances, directions, angles between points and elevation of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface.
Research legal records, looks for evidence of previous boundaries, and analyses the data to determine the location of boundary lines.
Records the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports.
An experienced professional with full understanding of area of specialization.
Works on problems of diverse scope.
