Compliance Engineer

A company in the engineering sector is looking for a Compliance Engineer to join their team in Cape Town. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Monitor and interpret vehicle regulations, including EPA, NHTSA, CARB, and FMVSS. Support emissions certification and annual regulatory submissions. Prepare and manage documentation for recalls, service campaigns, and compliance reporting. Maintain regulatory records, vehicle labeling, and VIN-related compliance data. Collaborate with engineering, legal, service, and customer support teams. Track regulatory changes and assess potential business impact.

Key Requirements: BEng Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years’ experience in regulatory compliance, quality, or engineering. Familiarity with vehicle emissions and safety standards essential. Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled and digital tools to support regulatory monitoring, compliance analysis, documentation accuracy, and reporting efficiency across complex vehicle programmes. South African Citizen. Be willing to travel overseas as operationally required.

Additional Requirements: Strong documentation, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to communicate effectively across technical and regulatory environments. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
