Automation Engineer (PLC & SCADA | Ignition Advantage) We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to work on industrial automation and control system projects. This role is hands-on, project- and site-based, and will involve PLC programming, SCADA development, and commissioning across various industrial environments.
Experience with Ignition SCADA will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- PLC programming, configuration, and fault finding
- Development and maintenance of SCADA systems
- HMI design, alarms, trends, and diagnostics
- On-site commissioning and system start-up
- Integration of field instrumentation, VSDs, and MCCs
- Reading and interpreting control philosophies, FDS, and electrical drawings
- Supporting troubleshooting and optimisation of automation systems
- Working on live industrial plants and construction sites
- Traveling to sites as required by project scope
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation
- Proven experience as an Automation Engineer in industrial environments
- Strong PLC programming experience
- SCADA system development and support experience
- Valid driver’s license (essential)
- Comfortable with site work, commissioning, and travel
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ignition SCADA (Inductive Automation)
- PLC platforms such as Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Omron, or Mitsubishi
- Industrial networking (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- VSDs, instrumentation, and process control
- Exposure to manufacturing, utilities, water, mining, or energy sectors
- Technically challenging automation projects
- Exposure to modern SCADA and industrial control systems
- Market-related remuneration
